Where I am

Where I'm going

I've been a Seattle radio mainstay since joining the legendary variety music station 103.7 The Mountain in the 1990s. During my epic 20-year run there, I hosted the morning show, the afternoon show, and hundreds of live performances and interviews with artists ranging from David Bowie and Paul Simon to Adele and Death Cab for Cutie. I chatted with countless celebs and newsmakers. Off-air, I conceived and wrote creative copy for broadcast, social media, the web, and special projects like the iconic Mountain Music Lounge CDs. I led the station's first steps onto the internet. And in my spare time, in those early days of the net, I helped launch Microsoft's Music Central website, writing and producing all kinds of content. And I co-hosted Expedia Radio, a nationally syndicated travel show. I also did a multi-year stint as a morning and weekend host on Warm 106.9 in Seattle

I love the audio medium, whether it's radio or a podcasting or singing in the shower, so I hope I'll always host some kind of show, somewhere. I love music, talking to musicians, discovering new artists, and sharing all of that with others. Working from home is great (especially when you're a parent.) But I love collaboration and the energy of a creative environment where brilliant ideas -- and the people who come up with them --can mix and mingle, whether it's a radio station, a writers room, a recording studio, a conference room or a coffee shop.

I recently wrapped up a 4-year stint as the morning host on Seattle's 94.1 The Sound, part of Audacy's Seattle cluster. As all modern radio jobs do, my role included constant daily social media engagement, writing, producing, and personal appearances.

I'm also a freelance voice artist working from a home studio where I specialize in radio/TV commercials and narration for corporate video projects, both internal and public-facing. I'm a writer, too, with a knack for social media, customer contact, and internal communications.

And I'm a painter! My style is contemporary graphic abstract (if you have to put a label on it) and you can take a look at johnfisherimages.com.

Oh yeah -- I'm also the father of an 11-year old kid, so I spend a big part of my day trying not to screw him up too much.
